Further information

Reduced-Fee Clinic

Our clinic aims to increase access to psychotherapy for a diverse community. To this end, the clinic offers Reduced-Fee psychotherapy to members of the public who live in the boroughs of Lambeth, Lewisham and Southwark, who would be unable to access it otherwise. There is no other service of its kind in these boroughs. A donation buys hours of individual psychotherapy.

Maintaining our Building

The Guild’s building at 47 Nelson Square is a Georgian Grade II listed three floor building. Its consulting rooms are in permanent use providing psychotherapy with our members and trainees and through our low-cost clinic. The Guild’s training course is run from the Guild. The Guild’s Hall is used for events and conferences throughout the year.

Minority Ethnic and Low-Income Training Bursaries

The Guild is committed to challenging inequality and systemic racism within the psychoanalytic psychotherapies and in making psychotherapy accessible and relevant to members of all communities. We know that students from these communities are less likely to train and more likely to drop out of psychotherapy and often find training silencing and traumatising, and therefore difficult. As part of the Guild’s commitment to address inequalities which have contributed to the lack of diverse representation in the psychoanalytic psychotherapies, the Guild is offering a training scholarship to Black, Asian and other racialised candidates. Your donation will be supporting:

  • 4 free places on the Introductory Course (worth £500 each)
  • 2 part-scholarship places on the full 4-year training (worth £4,000 each over the 4 year course)

Setting up a Regular Donation

A regular gift through a standing order helps us maintain the standards of our organisation and our building and allows us to make long term plans. You can donate regularly to us through the following methods. You can set up a regular donation by emailing donations@guildofpsychotherapists.org.uk.

Leave a gift in your Will

Leaving a gift to the Guild of Psychotherapists in your Will, even if just a small percentage of your estate, can help create a living legacy and keep the Guild providing training and low-cost psychotherapy for future generations.

The Guild of Psychotherapists would not exist today if it were not for forward thinking and generous individuals from the past, who helped create the Guild as a place where psychoanalytic psychotherapy can be developed and practiced.

If you would like to speak to us about leaving a gift in your will, please email donations@guildofpsychotherapists.org.uk.
